AMERICAN COLOMBO

(Frasera caroliniensis)

 

Part used:  Root.

 

Therapeutic action:

Tonic, stimulant (mild), bitter (moderately). This herb is gently stimulant, and is a general tonic, it especially promotes appetite and aids in digestion.

 

Medicinal uses:

Obstinate constipation, diarrhea (children), weak digestion (children), dyspepsia, gangrene (internally and externally), leucorrhea, miscarriage tendency, prolapsed uterus, vaginal ulceration.

 

Preparation:

Decoction, infusion, powder, tincture.
